Programme

A three-year programme to prepare neurodivergent young people for adulthood and the world of work.

Overview

Bridging the gap between education and adulthood.

Preparing for
Adulthood and Work

Inspired by ICHK Secondary's inclusive and award-winning philosophy and practices, the programme has been specially designed to bridge the gap between education and adulthood, empowering participants with the tools they need to thrive in the professional world and achieve personal autonomy.

The core programme will focus on preparing young people for adulthood and the world of work, and vocational training will be integrated with holistic life skills.

The programme draws on courses offered by a range of established providers including ASDAN and BTEC, and will provide opportunities for personalised learning. Learners will also work towards the ICHK Summits Transcript, which recognises graduates for all their skills, attributes, capabilities, achievements, and interests.

We plan to open small offshoot social enterprises in the form of coffee shops and snack bars to provide our learners with real-world opportunities.

Over the three years, vocational training will be integrated with holistic life skills, and will include job observations, internships, enterprise, one-on-one mentoring and job coaching. Young people will also develop skills in communication, budgeting, travel, personal safety, digital literacy and self care.
