We are a non-profit, community service and training provider, staffed with a small team made up of ICHK teachers, learning support assistants and administrative staff supported by the school’s leadership and administration at the main campus.

Kathryn Lung

ICHK Secondary Deputy Head of School — Learning and Summits Coordinator

Kathryn began her teaching career over 25 years ago, teaching English and Drama in UK secondary schools before specialising in learning support. She has extensive experience in supporting students with diverse learning needs as well as leading and developing learning support programmes and teams. Kathryn is passionate about inclusive education and is committed to ICHK's mission and vision of creating supportive environments and inclusive spaces where young people can thrive and feel valued for who they are.

Sammi Chan

ICHK Secondary Head of Learning Support and Programme Advisor

Sammi completed her studies in Psychology in the UK in 2013. She began her career in Hong Kong working in the SEND field, supporting students with diverse learning needs. After completing a Postgraduate Diploma in Education with a major in Special Educational Needs at The University of Hong Kong, her teaching journey started with primary-aged students, where she built practical experience in early intervention and classroom support.

In 2017, Sammi joined ICHK Secondary as a Learning Support Teacher. Over the years, she has progressed within the school, becoming Assistant Head of Learning Support and then in 2025 she took over the position of Head of Learning Support from Kathryn Lung. In this role, she leads the Learning Support team while continuing to teach IB Psychology.

Through her journey at ICHK, Sammi has developed deep insight into the importance of post-secondary transitions and career pathways for students with diverse needs. It has inspired a strong focus on equipping her students with essential work skills, life planning, and employability competencies to help them thrive beyond secondary education. Sammi is now actively exploring new opportunities to broaden her impact in the areas of career development and transition support for young people with diverse learning needs in Hong Kong.

Isabel Khine

Summits Teacher and Safeguarding Officer

Isabel is an experienced teacher of English and SEN. She has an MA (Hons.) in English Literature from the University of Glasgow, a PGCE (University of Sunderland), and Post-Graduate Certificate in Special and Additional Learning Needs (ICEP Europe, University of East London). As ICHK's Head of Year 7 she has supported students and their families with the pivotal process of transitioning from primary school to secondary school. She designed and delivered ICHK Secondary's bespoke 'Transitions' curriculum, which was created to provide Year 7 students with the socioemotional tools necessary to thrive and adapt to change during this key moment in their lives. She is looking forward to using her skills and experience to support learners at ICHK Summits as they transition into independence, adulthood, and the world of work.

Leah McKeever

Summits Teacher

Leah has taught for nearly twenty years in the USA, UK and Hong Kong. Originally a secondary English teacher, Leah had the opportunity to work closely with the Learning Support Department in her first school in order to tailor curriculum and classroom practices for students with diverse learning styles. Teaching neurodiverse young people eventually became Leah's focus and led her to specialist school settings with unique and inclusive pathways. While working in the UK, she established a supported-employment programme for teenagers to help develop their confidence, communication, and visibility in the local community. Leah's paramount goals for her students are to maximise their independence in daily life and empower them to participate in the interests, relationships and work they find meaningful.

Ashima Sharma

Chartered Clinical Psychologist · Founder, MindSpace

Ashima Sharma is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist and Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society with over 12 years of clinical experience across outpatient services, military hospitals, child development units, rehabilitation homes, private practice, and international schools.

Ashima works with children, adolescents and adults providing assessments and supporting presentations including anxiety, mood related concerns, obsessive-compulsive patterns, neurodivergent profiles, social communication challenges, emotional regulation difficulties, grief, family conflicts, and trauma.

Her therapeutic approach integrates Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT and DNA-V), EMDR, Social Thinking, AutPlay, DBT, Yoga and Breathwork-informed practices as well as Transactional Analysis techniques. She also delivers wellness-focused programmes that combine emotional, cognitive, and body-based strategies to promote resilience and sustainable wellbeing beyond the therapy room. Ashima consults in English, Hindi, and Punjabi.
